Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when you use Online Color Picker (seletordecoronline.com.br), why, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where it applies, and under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018), which governs the site's operator.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Felipe Silva, an individual developer based in Brazil who runs the site. He is also the point of contact for data protection matters (the "encarregado" or data protection officer under the LGPD). Contact: contato@seletordecoronline.com.br.
Summary
- There are no sign-ups, accounts, comments, forms that store data or user databases.
- Images you open in the tools are processed in your browser and never uploaded to the server.
- Preferences (theme, color history and consent choices) are stored only on your device.
- Google Analytics and Google AdSense set analytics and advertising cookies only after you consent.
- The hosting server keeps technical logs for security.
Images and local processing
Tools such as the image color picker, the palette extractor and the color blindness simulator read the image you choose with your browser's own Canvas API. The file is not uploaded, stored or seen by the site's operator. Once you close or reload the page, the image is gone.
Data processed and purposes
Server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, it automatically logs your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and your user agent (browser and operating system). These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. Retention is set by the hosting provider.
Usage measurement (Google Analytics 4)
With your consent, Google Analytics 4 measures site usage in aggregate: page views and events such as copying a color or exporting a palette. This shows which tools are useful and what needs work. The site uses Google Consent Mode v2 with a default of "denied": the _ga and _ga_* cookies are set only after you accept analytics. Without consent, Google may receive cookieless signals (pings), as Consent Mode works.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
The site shows Google AdSense ads, described in the Google AdSense section.
If you write to the contact address, your email address and message are used only to reply.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses your browser's local storage (localStorage), which stays on your device and is never sent to the server, plus third-party Google cookies based on your consent.
| Name | Purpose | Type | When it is set |
|---|---|---|---|
cps-theme | Remembers light or dark theme | localStorage, necessary | When you switch themes |
cps-history | History of the latest colors picked with the eyedropper | localStorage, functional | When you pick a color with the eyedropper |
cps-consent | Stores your consent choices | localStorage, necessary | When you respond to the cookie banner |
_ga, _ga_* | Aggregate usage statistics (Google Analytics 4) | Third-party cookie, analytics | Only after you consent to analytics |
| Google AdSense and partner cookies | Serving and measuring ads, including personalized ads | Third-party cookies, advertising | According to your advertising consent |
You can delete the localStorage items at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser settings.
Google AdSense and advertising
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ad Settings at My Ad Center. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info and, in Europe, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you do not consent to advertising, you may still see non-personalized or limited ads that are not based on your browsing history. For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, consent may be collected through a Google-certified consent management platform.
Managing your consent
On your first visit, a banner offers three options: Accept all, Reject and Customize, where you decide on analytics and advertising separately. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you do, the banner will appear again because your saved choice is deleted too.
Legal bases
- Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); LGPD Art. 7, I): analytics and advertising cookies.
- Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); LGPD Art. 7, IX): site security and technical logs essential to running the site.
Sharing and international transfers
The site does not sell or rent data. Technical data is processed by Hostinger as the hosting provider and, based on your consent, by Google for Analytics and AdSense. Google may process data outside Brazil or the European Union, under the safeguards described in its own policies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, objection and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Under the LGPD (Art. 18), you can request confirmation that processing takes place; access; correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data; anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data; portability; deletion of data processed based on consent; information about who data is shared with; and withdrawal of consent. You can also file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
Because the site keeps almost no personal data of its own, many requests can be handled in your browser (by clearing localStorage and cookies) or through the Cookie preferences link. For anything else, email contato@seletordecoronline.com.br. Requests about data processed by Google can also be made directly to Google.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the European Union) and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe this has happened, get in touch so the data can be deleted.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site or the services it uses change. The last-updated date is shown at the top of this page. The Terms of Use complement this document.
